Note from Robin Moore - November 1, 2011

Hi all - just a quick update on what’s happening at the Art League of Daytona:

1. Our very first “yART SALE” will be held on Saturday, November 19, and Sunday, November 20, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Local artists - including Kathy O’Meara, Rick Crawford, Beau Wild, Carolyn Land, Carson Kapp, Helen Curry Benet, Willodeen Sanders, Louise Lieber, David Rubello, Mary Keithan, Kathy Lusby, Harriet Wadro, Gail Bokor, James Hoolsema, Tony Ehrlich, Peter Cerreta, and Diana Gilson - will be offering fine arts and crafts items at attractive prices.

The lobby gift shop - featuring note cards, jewelry, reproductions, and more - will also be open. Additionally, we just received another donation of art books - lots of great titles!

I for one plan to start my holiday shopping early at this event! Many thanks to Kathy O’Meara for envisioning this event and making it happen.

2. You can pick up your works from the Members’ Showcase on Monday, November 14, Tuesday, November 15, and Wednesday, November 16, from 900 am to 400 pm. Let me know if you need to make alternative arrangements.

3. A slight change to our gallery exhibition schedule: the “Beaux Arts of Volusia - 50!” exhibit will open on November 22, instead of November 18, but the awards reception will still be on Sunday, December 4. The Very Special Arts exhibit in Studio A will open on Sunday, December 4.

4. In the “I Forgot to Mention It” department - (insert your choice of excuses)

A. My mind has turned to mush.
B. I’m on information overload.
C. My left brain is missing in action.
D. I’m an artist - THAT covers all bases, haha!

Those of you interested in Rose Ann Samuelson’s “Brushing Up on Basics” classes starting on January 6, 2012, can also work in gouache, if you wish.
