Hi all - just a reminder that this Sunday (January 29) we will present “Understanding and Appreciating Abstraction” moderated by prominent DeLand artist and educator Harry Messersmith. We’ll have a “Meet and Greet” from 100 to 130, and the program will begin at 130. Light refreshments will be served.
Harry’s comments are always interesting and informative, and we have lots of abstract work in the current show to discuss. Some of our abstract artists will be bringing in additional work as well. It’s sure to be a lively discussion!

In our humble opinion, it’s important to understand abstraction, regardless of our own personal styles. Anything we can learn about art in general enhances our own work, either overtly or in some indirect way. Those who do work in abstraction will benefit from discussing how to better help patrons and students appreciate the art.

Just a reminder that you can pick up your work from the members' show at the Art League on Wednesday, February 1, from 900 am to 400 pm.  Let me know if you need to make alternative arrangements.
