Marta Crawford was born in Madrid, Spain.  Her fascination with art began at a very early age, learning from her mother, an artist herself.  With a full academic scholarship, Marta studied at the University Complutense in Madrid.  Marta moved to the US to practice her English, and focused her art studies on the Portrait and Still Life genres.

“My work is all about the Light,” says Marta.  “I use Light to describe the illumination of the spirit, soul, and supreme life force in all things.  The fruits I paint are not fruits but people.  My work is always moving from the dark to the light, always changing, always in motion, searching for that spark that gives life meaning and purpose.  I want to show hope and grace amidst the chaos that surrounds us all”.

Marta’s work has been widely published; she has won numerous awards and her work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona as well
