ABOUT THE CLASS
Four-session outline:
1. The Fountain of Youth: Paint a tropical spring while learning color mixing, light and dark values, foreground and background, and focal points.
2. Quetzalcóatl, the Feathered Serpent: Explore composition, complementary colors, repeating patterns, and brush control.
3. El Dorado and the Golden Raft: Paint a mountain-lake scene while practicing depth, warm and cool colors, layering, and reflections.
4. The Enchanted Pink River Dolphin: Develop animal forms, shading, highlights, and water effects while applying skills from earlier sessions.
Students would work on small painting surfaces to keep each project manageable, with optional drawing guides available. They could follow the demonstrated composition or personalize their colors and details. The emphasis would be on learning fundamentals and building confidence.
