Denise Vezza Maggiore earned a Bachelor of Fine Art at Illinois State University and is an award-winning artist. She was trained in historical classical sensibilities; she was influenced by the renaissance ideals of beauty and inspired by the passionate graphic qualities of the drawings, etchings and lithographs of Blake, Goya, Dore, Durer and Picasso.
She has cultivated a unique a unique approach to her work, where each piece is also an opportunity to experiment with different mediums, in new ways that enhance the images. The art she creates is a Visual Reflection of her Spiritual Journey. She distills the images from dreams, or during quiet times of meditation and prayer. Using her vibrant imagination, she combines elements to represent the eternal and spiritual aspects of life; using abstract symbolism combined with earthly and cosmic elements.
Denise regularly exhibits with the Art League of Daytona Beach, The Artists’ Workshop in New Smyrna Beach, the Florida Women’s Art Association and the St Augustine Art Association where she is a member. She is also a resident artist at the Galerie Elan in Daytona and takes part in their themed exhibitions. She also shows at fine art and music festivals in the area. Denise enjoys encouraging new and seasoned artists in their work.
She will be sharing how to develop the imagination to use it for artistic inspiration and for communicating ideas, thoughts and dreams.

Workshop Description (Limited to 25 students)
For anyone who has thought, I’m not creative or “artsy”...I can’t paint...or draw...or write, these 4 workshops can help you discover new ways to approach personal creativity. What begins as an idea in our minds can result in an outward expression, if cultivated, that satisfies ourselves, or to share with others. Search for the creative treasures within you, there are endless possibilities and expressions to try. Choose from 4 different dates, or attend all. Each workshop will focus on personal creativity and expression using different themes, and approach to enrich your creative experience.
During these sessions, Denise will introduce creative concepts, give general instructions and lead in the process of tapping into your own thoughts, dreams and meditations to express your imagination You develop your own image, using supplied drawing or painting mediums on paper. At the end of each session, we will share our work with the group, to encourage one another. We will share our inspiration for the image, talk about out the process we used, and its personal meaning.
All skill levels welcome.
