ABOUT THE CLASS

In this hands-on workshop you will learn a variety of painting and texturing techniques to create unique papers for mixed media and collage. We will experiment with acrylic paints, inks, stencils/stamps, CitraSolv, and a variety of papers to add texture and depth to your mixed media collage papers.

You will learn how to make paste paper, faux rice paper, lace paper, marble-look tissue paper and more. You can get as wild as you want because the goal is to build a library of expressive original designed papers that reflect your personal artistic style. One of the best outcomes of this workshop is that nobody else will have the same papers.

Using these papers in your books, art journal pages and collages is the secret to developing a style that is YOUR signature style.

On day one we will start with the techniques that require longer drying time.

On day two we will continue to experiment with more techniques and media.

Students work at their own pace with individual guidance and demonstrations throughout the workshop.
