"Nature Series”

April 7, 2026 1:00pm-4:00pm

Instructor: Deborah Hildinger

This is a one-day workshop. Limited to 10 students

Many of my recent works feature cigar boxes containing both natural and manufactured objects. These creations are designed to be displayed either as standalone pieces or mounted on the wall. In this class, we will focus on the techniques of leafing, utilizing copper, gold, and variegated leaf options. The houses depicted were finished with variegated leafing. Each piece is intended to inspire individual creativity and thoughtful selection of items to include within the boxes.

"The Farm”

Monday, May 11, 2026 10:00am-4:00pm

Instructor: Alan Shuptrine

This is a one-day workshop. Limited to 12 students

Join Alan Shuptrine for “The Farm” watercolor class! Explore rolling fields, rustic fences, weathered barns, and livestock in pastures as you learn to capture the charm of rural landscapes. Attendees will practice perspective and depth, along with lighting and shading, while working with a variety of watercolor techniques to bring each element of the scene to life. Don’t be intimidated, this class is for all levels!

"Watercolor Batik”

Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 19th & 20th, 2026 9:00am-4:30pm

Instructor: Ryan Fox

This is a two-day workshop. Limited to 12 students

Discover a vibrant new way to paint!

In this exciting workshop, you’ll explore watercolor batik — a luminous fusion of watercolor and wax on delicate Japanese rice paper. Using a modern twist on the age-old batik process (where melted wax is applied to fabric to resist dye), you’ll layer rich color, shimmering highlights, and dramatic shadows to create artwork with gorgeous texture and depth.

We’ll start with a simple drawing, then dive right into technique: how to build light and shadow, when and where to apply hot wax to preserve details, and how to develop that signature batik “crackle” effect.

"Layers of Design-Watercolor Pouring”

Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 31st & Nov 1st, 2026 9:00am-4:30pm

Instructor: Ryan Fox

This is a two-day workshop. Limited to 12 students

Learn to create luminous, expressive watercolor paintings — without ever picking up a brush. In this two-day workshop, we’ll focus on intentional design and careful planning as you explore the art of pouring diluted watercolor directly onto paper. Pouring allows you to achieve rich color transitions, soft blends, and glowing transparent layers that simply aren’t possible with traditional brushwork.
